Job Description

L&W Supply is a leading specialty distributor of drywall, ceiling tiles, steel framing and other building materials used by commercial and residential contractors. L&W Supply delivers the products and capabilities offered by a national distributor paired with the service and personal touch usually found only in a locally owned business.

L&W Supply is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative for Acoustical Materials to support its strategic growth and maximize commercial ceilings sales in the New Jersey market.

Specific duties may include:

  • Cultivating and managing customer relationships
  • Serving as the point of contact for all ceilings national accounts projects as well as assume ceiling job tracking leadership duties
  • Maintaining up to date ceilings quote documentation that encompasses accurate pricing across the market and working to ensure that there are no pricing gaps or errors within pricing system
  • Making cold calls to prospective customers
  • Reviewing the minimum stocking levels for each tile and grid item and make stocking commitments on USG and non-USG items
  • Acting as liaison to coordinate information and service between the end user of a product and the sales representatives in the selling organizations
  • Gather competitive market and pricing information
  • Developing focus targets in each market and leading the effort to expand ceilings customer base
  • Serving as a first point of contact and becoming a reliable resource to new ceilings vendors
  • Identifying targets by market and assisting in matching branch capabilities to opportunities
  • Coaching and mentoring sales teams on furthering individual performance and ceilings knowledge

Specific qualifications include:

  • College degree in business, sales or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Acoustical ceiling sales experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management, organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to travel locally within the district
  • Must have valid driver’s license, own reliable transportation, be able to pass MVR check, and vehicle insurance must meet company’s requirements
