Inventory Control / Purchasing Associate

Job Description

L&W Supply is a leading specialty distributor of drywall, ceiling tiles, steel framing and other building materials used by commercial and residential contractors. L&W Supply delivers the products and capabilities offered by a national distributor paired with the service and personal touch usually found only in a locally owned business.

As an Inventory Control / Purchasing Associate, you will provide assistance to customers as they purchase the materials they need for a variety of building projects. From the moment you greet customers until their sales have been finalized, you will provide them with superior service and building material expertise.

Specific duties may include:

• Determining customers’ needs and recommending appropriate products and solutions

• Following a product/supply checklist for each customer’s job and up-selling additional products and supplies

• Answering customer questions and offering product advice

• Ordering products from other L&W Supply branches when necessary

• Arranging with the warehouse for customer product pickup

• Reordering products to keep the store and warehouse shelves well stocked

• Addressing and resolving customer concerns when necessary

• Ordering from manufacturers and related vendors

• Receiving inbound material into systems

• Performing cycle counts

Specific qualifications include:

• 1-2 years' experience in purchasing and inventory control is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Solid time management and prioritization skills

• Superior organizational skills

• Experience with CRM systems, Excel, document management, and inventory control (Min/Max)

• Cycle counting product experience

Pay Rate Information:

$30-35/hr., based on experience and qualifications.
